Bilateral Arm Training

Bilateral arm training, using rhythmic alternating movements and active stimulation, is most effective for stroke motor recovery progress

Forty-eight stroke studies were selected for an extensive review of bilateral arm training and the outcome was recently published in “Human Movement Science”. According to the paper “these novel findings provide strong evidence supporting bilateral arm training with the caveat that two coupled protocols, rhythmic alternating movements and active stimulation, are the most effective”.
